Brief

Boxtree were appointed by the Director of Professional risk to support in securing an appointed setter for the Professional Risk team in London. With a specific focus within professional service companies, they identified that they were looking for a graduate with a degree within a professional and financial services lead degree as well as a desire to generate their own book of business in time and build out a career within insurance. The individual would be supporting  a team of 6 Account Executives and Directors by generating a pipeline of appointments for the team.

 

Boxtree Approach

Boxtree identified leading universities for financial services degrees and identified Business with Finance Bachelor’s degree as being a target qualification for graduate candidates. During this exercise, key individuals were identified as newly qualified and separated by qualification result. All were approached and individually interviews on their key personal aspirations and hopes for their future. Out of 15 graduates, two candidates were identified with Degree’s in Business and Finance (qualified with a 1st) and both of which had clear aspirations to join the insurance market.

 

Outcome

Two candidates were interviewed for the position and one being a perfect fit for the team. One candidate was successful given their personal goals being completely in line with the team at Howdens. 3 years and 2 months later, the candidate is still working within the group but has achieved Cert CII, Dip CII and has been rewarded with three promotions.
