Brief

Boxtree were approached by a new MGA to the London market. The Chief Underwriting Offer provided Boxtree with an exclusive remit to identify and successfully engage with two Head of Underwriting candidates within London market specialising in Motor Risk and Motor Fleet. The opportunity within the new divisions offered significant opportunity for career progression as well as a clear foresight into access to equity engagement for any successful engagement.

 

Boxtree Approach

Boxtree recruitment conducted a thorough market referral exercise with brokers in the space. A mapping project identified four fantastic underwriters whom were consistently recommended by placing and producing brokers in the sector of Motor. All four were successfully headhunted and engaged with our client, two of which were moved forward to offer.

 

Outcome

The client offered a Head of Motor Fleet Underwriting and a Head of Specialty Motor Underwriting. The salary and package budgets for both appointments were increased by 21% to secure the candidates on desired package. These candidates still remain in appointment since acceptance and are continuing to expand the team with support of Boxtree.
