Initial Discussions

Before representing your business in the market, we will discuss your hiring requirements, assess company growth plans and gain relevant insight to position ourselves as viable advocates for your business, in line with what you want to achieve. We will agree upon your expectations of us, our expectations of you and agree our commercial terms including the timescales, fees and ‘what ifs’.

When considering working with Boxtree, please appreciate that we also have expectations of who we partner with. You will also need to commit to a smooth recruitment process, effective feedback deadlines and ethical treatment of our candidates and confidential representations. It is not unusual for us to implement confidentiality agreements and or NDAs to ensure the highest standards of consultancy with disclosures. 

Headhunting & Sourcing

Once we have bought into your culture, strategy and objectives, we take on the role of an external extension of your talent acquisition efforts. Unlike some other recruiters, we don’t just sit around waiting for applications to come through to us. The majority of our candidates are sourced through headhunting - after all, the best candidates often have their head down delivering their objectives. Boxtree hold the largest social media presence of any insurance consultancy in the United Kingdom and as such are the only choice for technical appointments, headhunting and sourcing efforts.

Technical Interviewing

We are primarily trained in technical insurance over recruitment. As such, once we have shortlisted candidates, we technically vet and interview them at hiring manager level to assess ability, ensure diversity and position ourselves into a confident position whereby that candidate is the ideal fit. Cultural fit and technical ability are our key drivers with interview success.

We don’t believe in CV-shovelling; as your consultants, we should be responsible for the hard-work in the hiring process. After screening all candidates, we narrow our shortlist down to the best in class. Don’t expect to receive more than three candidates; do expect to struggle when it comes to picking which candidate to offer.

Compliance & Referencing

With risk mitigation and the highest level of trust from insurance professionals across the UK, our integrity is at the heart of everything we do. To avoid the cost of bad hire, we only represent candidates whom we seek explicit consent from to represent them. This is something that should be commonplace within the recruitment industry, but unfortunately is not. Not only do we obtain explicit consent from each candidate we represent, but we also ensure they have the right to work in the UK by undertaking identification checks prior to interview stage. With the candidate's consent, we also obtain market references to ensure that they are exactly what they portray themselves to be. We only represent the best in class.

Making Introductions

At this stage, we are ready to introduce between one and three candidates that are clear contenders for consideration. After seeking mutual availability, we will arrange interviews between yourself and the candidates and ensure you are well prepared with how best to entice that candidate into your business.

After any interviews have taken place, we will speak to both parties to obtain feedback, adhering to our 12-hour promise. We promise that candidates will receive interview feedback in 12-hours or less following their interview and any breakdown in this process results in a breakdown of our commercial agreement. Following fantastic feedback from both parties, we move to become your broker. We take the seat in negotiation of contract, package and ensure well received negotiations at every stage. The most important part of getting a suitable candidate to this final stage, is getting them across the line.

Aftercare

How many recruitment companies do you never hear from again, especially when something doesn’t quite work out? Our market leading aftercare framework not only ensures smooth long-term employment and avoidance of a bad hire, but it also ensures that any constructive feedback from onboarding is relayed for positive adjustment internally. We won’t disappear once we have placed a candidate into your business. Periodic checks, early understanding of mutual concerns and being open and transparent ensures that 100% of our placements remain in situ as a result of this process. We make sure you are happy. We make sure the candidate is happy.
