Boxtree recruitment are recruiting for a Buy to Let Mortgage Underwriter for a well-established lender in the City of London. Our client has huge backing from big banks and they are experiencing a huge increase in demand for their products hence the creation of 1, possibly 2 roles.

Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and in turn underwrite complex, HNW BTL mortgage cases
- Ensure new lending proposals are underwritten in line with Lending Policy with any exceptions clearly documented and approved by relevant senior signatories
- Present clear and concise lending recommendations to senior signatories for proposals which require exceptions or fall outside parameters of mandate
- Participate in daily deal committees
- Assess and appraise valuation reports
- Liaise with intermediaries on new enquiries and proposals ensuring underwriting requirements and/or reasons for decline are communicated clearly and effectively
- Work closely with Case Managers to ensure reasons for underwriting requirements and special conditions are understood
Required:
- Previous mandate holder within secured lending, ideally buy to let mortgages
- Happy to have conversations with candidates that are aspiring to become underwriters as long as they have assisted underwriters in a property finance lender previously. (Hence the wide salary bandings)
