Job description

Working for an insurance brokerage in Harrow, Boxtree are looking for a Commercial Account Handler to secure new customers, generate new business and administer insurance policies, including setting up all appropriate actions required for contract renewal.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide brokering services to all clients, ensuring the smooth running of allocated accounts on a daily basis
  • Be the first point of contact for day-to-day enquiries and respond to queries in a timely manner
  • Provide a high-quality service to existing clients, covering all aspects of their insurance arrangements
  • Deal with new business, MTAs and renewals, cross-selling to existing clients where appropriate
  • Referring to senior colleagues, experts or insurers when issues fall outside own experience or knowledge
  • Deal with telephone enquiries promptly, providing a proactive and professional service
  • Check and resolve any identified discrepancies with insurer documentation before sending to clients
  • Liaise with insurers, claims handlers and other colleagues when appropriate
  • Incept, maintain and update client records and data in line with in-house systems

Required:

 

  • Commercial insurance experience is essential for this role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of FCA regulations
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with customers and insurers
  • Proactive attitude, with the ability to use you own initiative
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail
